Hangzhou, as the Conference Venue of ISMOT’07,
is famous for its historic and cultural
heritage. It’s a national key scenic and
tourist city with a long history. Hangzhou
is one of the birthplaces of Chinese Civilization
and one of the |
|
|
| |
seven ancient capitals of China. As early
as 4,700 years ago, our ancestors inhabited
here and developed the historically reputed
"Liangzhu Culture". Hangzhou,
a famous "Kingdom of Culture",
has a history of over 2,200 years, dating
back to the |
 |
|
|
| |
establishment of county administration
in the Qin Dynasty. Beautiful in natural
landscape, Hangzhou is honored with the
title "Paradise on Earth". The
West Lake, the symbol of Hangzhou city,
is beautiful as world famous Geneva lake
with brilliant cultural relics and a profusion
of native products. To make West Lake more
attracted, the lake area had been enlarged
12% in recent years. |
|
| |
|
|
|
| |
 |
Blessed with rich products, Hangzhou is
a city of leisure and the people are leading
an affluent life. Throughout history, Hangzhou
has won many honors like "City of Civilization",
"Land Abundant in Fish and Rice",
"Home of |
|
|
| |
Silk", and "Capital of Tea".
Marco Polo, the Italian traveler, once applauded
Hangzhou as "the most splendid and
luxurious city in the world". As a
central city situated on the southern wing
of the Yangtze Delta, Hangzhou has been
famous for its commerce and trade through
the ages. Currently, its comprehensive economic
strength ranks second among all the provincial
capitals in China. |
